The 2301A Speed Control controls the speed or load of diesel or gas engines, or steam or gas turbines. The unit provides control in the isochronous mode, with droop available through an externally-wired potentiometer. The isochronous mode is used for constant speed of the controlled prime mover as long as it is able to provide power to satisfy the load.

Woodward DPG digital controllers for diesel or gas-fueled engines perform across a wide speed range and allow adjustment of set speed and gain with a built-in user interface. Dyna 2000 Series

DYNA 2000 and DYNA 2500 linear actuators provide precise positioning with a minimal number of moving parts. Many of the moving parts normally associated with electric actuators are eliminated, prolonging the mean time between failure. 

These DYNA actuators are suitable for installation on diesel, gasoline, or natural gas engines with fuel system force requirements of less than 13 pounds (58 N) of force. When paired with a Woodward controller, precise isochronous speed control of 5 to 30 HP engines (DYNA 2000) and 5 to 60 HP engines (DYNA 2500) is achieved. 

Both actuators are easy to install by mounting near the fuel system and direct connecting to the fuel control rod or lever. In most installations, the normal rotary-to-rotary connection is eliminated, resulting in a more trouble-free and accurate control system.

Dyna 8000 Series

Woodward DYNA 8000 Series rotary actuators are components of governor systems that provide engine governing for speed and power control of piston and gas turbine engines or steam and water turbines.

The DYNA hazardous duty actuators are UL listed for Class I, Division 2, Group D, hazardous duty applications often encountered in petroleum or chemical industries.

ACTUATOR  The actuator consists of an electromagnet with an iron armature rolling on the center shaft bearings, and has a return spring that balances the magnetic force of the armature. When DC current flows in the coil, the magnetic force moves the armature in the stator. This linear motion is transformed into rotary motion through a crank arm that forms part of the output shaft.

Dyna Plus 1 & 4 Series

DYNA Plus actuators can be operated with Woodward controllers to provide an engine governor for speed and power control of piston and gas turbine engines or steam and water turbines. The actuators can also be used in remote positioning and load control systems.  

Actuators have output work capacities of 1, 4, 6, and 8 ft-Ibs. No special requirements are needed for mounting the DYNA actuator on the engine. It can be located at any convenient position since there are no requirements for a mechanical drive or oil connections.  DYNA 6 actuators are available in standard and explosion-proof models. DYNA 8 actuators' through output shaft allows clockwise and counterclockwise shaft rotation.

EasYlite

The easYlite-100 annunciator is designed to remotely display the status of a generator control system through a CAN bus interface. The easYlite-100 may be used where an additional status display is required, which is directly connected to the generator control unit.

The compact design permits easy mounting and the ergonomically designed faceplate provides immediate identification of the system status. LEDs on the easYlite-100 faceplate change their state if the assigned warning/alarm condition occurs or the status conditions change.

EGB Series

The mechanical governor backup capability of Woodward's EGB governor/actuators provides increased reliability and safety during the operation of dual-fuel and diesel engines or gas and steam turbines. 

During normal operation, the electronic control and actuator section of the EGB regulates fuel to the prime mover. Upon loss of electronic control signal, the standard EGB is adjusted to cause prime mover shutdown. An electronic, pneumatic, or manual starting device is then used to allow prime mover starting and operation under ballhead control.

Woodward’s EGCP-2 is a microprocessor-based complete generator control and engine management package. It is designed for use with an automatic voltage regulator and a speed control to automate and protect diesel or gas engine based generator sets.

The 512/524 and 1712/1724 EPGs are three-component governing systems for 12 or 24 Vdc operation. All EPG systems include an actuator, an electronic speed control, and magnetic pickup. Both isochronous and droop controls are available. The EPG is designed for precise speed control of diesel, gas, or gasoline engines, and gas turbines.

The governor is especially suited to prime movers without a mechanical drive or hydraulic oil supply for the governor, and which have low-mass, low-friction fuel linkages.

Load Sharing Module

Woodward’s LSM (Load Sharing Module) provides isochronous and droop load-sharing capability for engines in generator set applications. Additional equipment in the control system can include the Woodward SPM-A synchronizer, import/export control, AGLC (automatic generator loading control), and APTL (automatic power transfer and loading control).

Woodward LSM models are used on engines equipped with speed controls that accept a ±3 Vdc speed setting input, a 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc input, or a PWM (pulse-width-modulated) input. The LSM allows use of Woodward power generation accessories, as well as load sharing between engines equipped with speed controls that are not manufactured by Woodward and engines controlled with Woodward electronic controls, or controls using other Woodward load sharing modules.

HighPROTEC represents Woodward’s latest generation of power protection relays with dual core processors. The new device line is designed for complete protection of power generating and distribution systems.

During the development of the HighPROTEC Line, Woodward gives special emphasis to high flexibility and simple handling of the devices.

All HighPROTEC relays are furnished with a high-contrast graphic display. Ongoing measuring values, messages, alarms, and fault data are displayed in clear text. Guiding text assists the operator when setting parameters. Inadmissible inputs are prevented by plausibility checks.

All current and earth current inputs are designed for 1A and 5A. The nominal voltage of the voltage inputs and the switching thresholds of the digital inputs can be adjusted via software. The wide-range power supply unit covers all standard auxiliary voltages, both for DC and AC.

Woodward’s modular protection devices for low voltage, medium voltage, and lower high voltage level have numerous and complex protection functions. The protection range includes basic time overcurrent protection, machine protection to high-grade differential protection.

In addition to relays with single protection functions, those with combined protection functions are available. Devices are designed for door mounting, either in separate housings or in 19“ racks. For back panel mounting an adapter is also available.

Thanks to our “plug-in” technology with automatic short-circuit mechanism for the current inputs, these relays can be changed during operation. LEDs and an alpha-numerical display show clear text indication of measuring, setting and fault values, and allow intuitive operation. Woodward IKD

The IKD 1 is an I/O extension board. It allows an additional 8 discrete inputs and 8 relay outputs to be connected via CAN bus to the Woodward generating set controllers series GCP-30 and easYgen.

It is possible to connect multiple Woodward IKD 1 cards to each of the genset controllers. The IKD 1 can be programmed via a PC configuration tool or directly via LogicsManagerTM in the easYgen series controllers. Configuration of text name for the I/O, alarm classes, NO (Normally Open) and NC(Normally Closed) relay contact configuration and delay timers is possible. The I/O states will be displayed in clear text messages on the genset controllers display and can be used for further processing.

Woodward LS5

The LS-5 Series are synchronizer and load share controllers with integrated protective functions. They are designed to enable complex power management applications with multiple incoming mains and bus breakers in combination with easYgen-3400/3500 equipped genset controllers.

The LS-5 devices will manage synchronization, loading and unloading on each bus segment and send the required voltage and frequency references via CAN bus to the easYgen-3400/3500 genset controllers. LS-5 devices which are located on the incoming mains breakers will automatically detect mains failures and start the corresponding gensets accordingly. Wiring efforts are reduced to a minimum, since only one CAN bus connection is required between all LS-5 and easYgen-3400/3500 controllers. It is not required to wire any AC measurement signals or discrete inputs/outputs between the LS-5 and easYgen-3400/3500 controllers.

Extensive remote control capabilities via discrete inputs or interfaces are provided to easily integrate the LS-5 into each application environment.
